The Portfolio
Some students benefit from assessments that are not just the dreaded multiple choice test. Portfolios are an opportunity for students to present their mastery of skills in a different setting. You can include an oral presentation or simply have students turn in the written reflections. Though you have to carve out time for oral presentations, this can ultimately save time for you because you will grade in class, not on your lonesome in a silent classroom.

To receive full credit, you must include:
You will present 1 of the reflections to the class. You can be creative with the presentation (sing it, pre-record it and post on the site, create a prezi)
See below for the Standard List (for Literature)
- Evidence (Attached image, recording, or typed response from the assignment)
- 1 sentence explanation of the skill(s) you demonstrate from this assignment (see title of the assignment or standard list)
- Explain steps you took to complete this assignment. (ex. Firstly, I gathered evidence from the novel to support my claim. Then,...)
- If you did not earn a perfect score, explain ways to improve your work.
- Explain how you could apply these skills beyond the classroom (ex. I can use essay writing skills to organize my thoughts in any future writing work, such as emails or cover letters for job applications).
